Adam John Ellison

Associate in International Justice

Adam John Ellison is a political activist based in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Ellison attended The Cotswold School Academy before reading History & Politics at Magdalen College, University of Oxford.

While at Oxford, he was a columnist and sub-editor for The Cherwell and later a candidate for Oxford City Council at the May 2018 local elections. Ellison later founded Oxford Students for Self-Determination, a group which hosted representatives and speakers from various world-wide groups engaged in campaigns for democratic reform and self determination.

Ellison has worked to promote otherwise absent discussion and exploration in Britain of contemporary issues of self-determination, and of the ongoing struggles of the Uighurs, the Tibetans, the West Papuans, and people of Hong Kong.

In the Summer of 2018, Ellison led an international volunteer group on the successful campaign to overturn the Republican Party’s majority in California’s 45th Congressional District and elect Congresswoman Katie Porter.

Ellison is a member of Liberty and the Electoral Reform Society and is active within the UK Labour Party.
